The Mary E. Jones Library is dedicated to the first Principal of Vista del Lago HS. Her vision, leadership, and daily example of service to others are what started VLHS on the path to excellence. Her commitment to the well-being and growth of all students and staff on campus is an inspiration still motivating all who were a part of the first years of Vista del Lago High School.  As a result of her exceptional and distinguished guidance and dedication, the library was named in her honor. Mrs. Jones retired from her position as Principal in 2006 after more than 40 years as an educator and mentor.

“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”

Martin Luther King Jr.
