Her passion for fostering student growth and language acquisition has significantly enriched our school community. Notably, Mrs. O’Dell undertook the challenging task of coordinating our WASC report. Her exceptional organization and impactful leadership were instrumental in our team’s successful review, resulting in a six-year accreditation. Jennifer's commitment to collaboration and her innovative teaching methods inspire both colleagues and students alike. Her ability to cultivate an inclusive learning environment ensures that every student feels valued and empowered.

We recognize Mr. Allan Collins as School Counselor of the Year. Allan is highly skilled and knowledgeable, consistently placing student needs at the forefront of his work. He excels in building relationships with students from all backgrounds, demonstrating empathy, social-emotional support, and providing invaluable academic guidance. He creates a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment and is well-versed in college preparation and student-centered master scheduling. He fosters a culture of respect within the guidance department and the school community. Allan embodies the qualities of an outstanding counselor: compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment. He takes the time to understand each student's challenges and offers tailored advice and resources to empower them to succeed.He is a trusted collaborator among staff and administration as well. His ability to analyze data and provide insightful information benefits the entire team. Mr. Collins’s work extends far beyond the traditional role of a counselor; he is a trusted mentor, advocate, and friend to many. He embodies the RAVENS values both as a school counselor and a golf coach, making him an invaluable asset to the Vista del Lago team.

Moreno Valley Unified Triumphs at RCOE National History Competition

 

In Moreno Valley, Calif., 34 students from the Moreno Valley Unified School District have demonstrated excellence at the RCOE National History competition, advancing with 16 projects to the state level. With 46 schools, including 13 from Moreno Valley, participating in the competition, a diverse range of institutions showcased their talent. Among 386 student entries, Moreno Valley participants secured 34 wins, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence. These winning students will progress to the California State Competition at CSU Sacramento on April 19-24, 2024.
